Fans who want one final chance to see Christopher Nolan‘s latest film on the big screen will get that this weekend. Paramount is releasing the multiple
Oscar-nominee Interstellar to select AMC IMAX Theaters on February 21. The screenings will take place at 3 p.m. local time and feature “more than 12 minutes of never-before-seen exclusive behind-the-scenes content.” That’s pretty enticing, and this will be probably your last-ever chance to see the film in IMAX. Read more details about the Interstellar IMAX re-release below.

Here’s the full press release on what they’re calling “An Encore of Interstellar: The IMAX Experience.”

Notice paragraph three where (though the wording is not as clear as it might be) you can get a free Interstellar movie ticket with each ticket bought for this showing, so long as you actually buy at the theater rather than online. That’s even more incentive to go.

Paramount Pictures, IMAX Corporation and AMC Theatres are giving fans one last opportunity to see Christopher Nolan’s Academy Award-nominated film “INTERSTELLAR.” The critically acclaimed film will play in the IMAX® format in select AMC Theatres in the U.S. on Saturday, February 21st, 2015.

The one-day-only “An Encore of Interstellar: The IMAX Experience” showings will take place at 3:00 p.m. local times at participating AMC Theatres and will feature more than 12 minutes of never-before-seen exclusive behind-the-scenes content.

“INTERSTELLAR” is nominated for five Academy Awards®: Best Visual Effects, Best Original Score, Best Production Design, Best Sound Mixing and Best Sound Editing.

The film stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, John Lithgow and Michael Caine. With our time on Earth coming to an end, a team of explorers undertakes the most important mission in human history; traveling beyond this galaxy to discover whether mankind has a future among the stars.

“INTERSTELLAR” is directed by Christopher Nolan, written by Jonathan Nolan and Christopher Nolan, and produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Lynda Obst.

Interstellar hits Blu-ray March 31 and you can probably assume this behind the scenes footage will be on there. But it won’t be in IMAX, which you can see Saturday. (Of note though, AMC IMAX’s are digital projections.)

Will you be checking out possibly the first and final Interstellar IMAX re-release?
