A new fan-trailer imagines what Avengers: Infinity War would be like if it was set in the Stranger Things universe. Infinity War, of course, is the beginning of the culmination of everything that transpired in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last 10 years. It will be followed by next year's Avengers 4, which will cap off the first three Phases of the famed cinematic universe.

Stranger Things, on the other hand, may be newer than the MCU, but it has a global fanbase that's only growing by the day. Debuting in 2016, the sci-fi horror series is set in the 1980s and already two well-received seasons, with season 3 on the way for a 2019 premiere. Due to its immense popularity, many of the Netflix TV show's young stars (Millie Bobby Brown, in particular) are already starting to become household names

YouTube content creator TNovix has now unveiled an Infinity War mashup video inspired by the trailer for Stranger Things season 2. The two and a half minute trailer-style video uses clips from the MCU film and focuses on the characters who have a personal history with the villainous Thanos (such as Gamora, Drax and Tony Stark). Of course, the intergalactic baddie is also given his own time to shine here. Watch the full video below.

While Stranger Things and the Avengers franchise are quite different from each other in many ways, both have also reached a pivotal junction in their respective overarching stories. The Netflix series will include a significant time jump in season 3, which itself promised to be much darker and more action-packed. Not that the '80s series has ever shied away from being creepy and freaky in the past, but the show's creatives are striving to take things up yet another notch with this new season.

Meanwhile, considering how things ended in Infinity War (with Thanos handing the Avengers their first real defeat), Marvel fans have been trying to figure out what's next for Earth's Mightiest Heroes. Between leaked set photos and what is known about the much-anticipated Avengers 4, time travel and the Quantum Realm seem to be two key elements that factor in the Avengers' efforts to defeat the Mad Titan and restore order to the larger MCU.

Unfortunately, for fans of both franchises, there's still a bit of a wait until their next installments arrive. Strangers Things 3 will debut next summer, with Avengers 4 set to kickoff 2019's blockbuster season around the same time. Even so, both projects are expected to enter a major phase of their marketing campaigns within the next couple of months. Netflix has already rolled out a cheeky Stranger Things 3 teaser focusing on Hawkins' new Starcourt Mall to hype viewers up, with Marvel Studios gearing up to launch the trailer for Captain Marvel this week - after which, their attention will shift to getting the first wave of marketing for Avengers 4 off the ground and running.
