Margot Robbie shares a first-look image of herself as Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. Unsurprisingly, the director has assembled an A-list cast for his latest effort, which takes viewers back to the 1960s. While the story primarily concerns itself with a fading TV star and his stunt double (Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt, respectively) trying to make a name for themselves, there will be multiple layers to the plot. One of the background elements will be the notorious Charles Manson murders, which rocked the world in 1969.

Tate, one-time spouse of director Roman Polanski, was one of Manson's more famous victims, and it was long reported she would be part of Tarantino's new film. For the longest time, Robbie was the one eyed for the part, and the Oscar-nominee was officially confirmed back in May. Now, as production continues, fans now have a chance to see Robbie in her latest role.

Robbie took to her official Instagram account, where she posted the first-look photo of herself in-costume. You can check it out for yourself in the space below:

For many viewers, Robbie is best known as the DC Extended Universe's Harley Quinn, but she's done a great job of balancing tentpole pictures with more auteur-driven fare. Breaking out in Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, she's already been in a diverse range of projects, including biopics Goodbye Christopher Robin and I, Tonya (for which she received an Academy Award nod). And as she continues to develop new movies for Harley, Robbie will appear as Queen Elizabeth I in this year's possible awards contender, Mary Queen of Scots. It'll be exciting to see what she brings to the part of Tate, especially since she's always dreamed of collaborating with Tarantino. The director has a penchant for getting the best out of his ensembles, so odds are Robbie will deliver another standout performance and may end up in the Oscar discussion again.

Sony, the studio distributing Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is certainly confident in the film's prospects, seeing that they're releasing it in the thick of the 2019 summer movie season. As it stands now, it'll follow a long list of blockbusters, including Spider-Man: Far From Home, Top Gun: Maverick, and Jon Favreau's Lion King remake. Undoubtedly, Tarantino's latest will appeal to a different target demographic, but with a star-studded cast and a fan-favorite director at the helm, it certainly could hold its own against the competition and be a big hit in its own right. Time will tell, but Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is shaping up to be something special.
