Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson can be compared to many things: various bad asses of law enforcement history, various figures across several faith based belief systems, and even some comic book characters. But if there's one thing he's never been compared to, at least until now, it's an actual, honest-to-goodness rock. But after a fifth grader did the honors for a recent science project, the results went viral, eventually making their way to the Baywatch star. This left Johnson so flattered, he responded with the following comment:

Very cool and creative 5th grader who will become a future science leader. Unlike myself in 5th grade who got suspended for using [the middle finger] in class.

While Dwayne Johnson may not have been the most well-behaved fifth grader, he's certainly made up for it throughout his life. With a charitable streak that runs miles wide, and a general amiability with people (so long as no feuds are started), Johnson pretty much gets along with anyone. He's not afraid to give back, be it though actual charity work, or with the professional elbow grease he's constantly using to knock films like Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle out of the park. Though, to be fair, we're not totally sure an actual rock wouldn't do those things if it were alive, so it's rather unfair to compare a natural geological object to a human with a living advantage.

If you didn't see the science project that got The Rock all excited, you can take a look at it below:

The comparison boils down to the biotic / abotic classifications of objects. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a biotic lifeform, as he is living and able to deliver blockbuster thrills, smart-assed wisecracks, and sometimes heartwarming drama. However, an actual rock is abiotic, as it doesn't live, and can't even roll itself much less fight Vin Diesel in a garage full of chains and wrenches. Go ahead and try to imagine any one of Johnson's film or TV roles with an actual rock, and you'll see the difference.

However, Dwayne Johnson and a rock do have some similarities: they are both bald, supposedly indestructible, and they're super strong. Apparently, those comparisons are enough to get the attention of Johnson himself.

You can see Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in The Fate of the Furious, which is in theaters now. However, if you've already seen that film, you can catch Johnson as the host of CNN's Soundtracks: Songs That Defined History Thursday Nights at 10 p.m. ET. Or, if you're more patient, you can wait until Baywatch drops in theaters, as the beach bash is set for May 25th.
