Katie Holmes hasn’t ruled out starring in a Dawson’s Creek reunion.

The 35-year-old actress starred as Joey Potter in the hit programme from 1998 to 2003.

And despite the show having been off our screens for over 10 years, Katie says she finds the demand for a reunion of the show “hugely flattering”.

Asked why she thinks fans are still so keen to see Joey and her crew return to the Creek, Katie told GossipCop.com: “Maybe we all want to feel those feelings again. I don’t know. Maybe that’s why they want a reunion.”

“It’s hugely flattering. We had a great time working on it.”

Katie also revealed she believes the central themes of the programme – mainly the teen love triangles between Joey, Dawson (played by James Van Der Beek) and Pacey (Joshua Jackson) – were what made it so popular.

“I think that show touched a certain generation,” she said. “It was innocent at a time when innocence was very valued and present. But it had that teen angst that really revealed what everybody was going through.”

When Dawson’s Creek came to its end in 2003, Katie was the only member of the cast to have appeared in all 128 episodes.

After departing, she attempted to forge a movie career for herself, appearing in films such as Batman Begins and The Gift.

However, Katie says she will always have fond memories of her time on the Creek.

"It was very difficult for me to leave Wilmington, to have my little glass bubble burst and move on,” she said.

“I hate change. On the other hand it was refreshing to play someone else.”
