The Hilarious Way Rotten Tomatoes Celebrated Ant-Man And The Wasp Being Certified Fresh

Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne teamed up in a significant way earlier this summer for Ant-Man and The Wasp, and the Ant-Man sequel proved to be a great palette cleanser after the events of Avengers: Infinity War. More than that, however, the film also proved reasonably successful with audiences and critics alike. In fact, the film received a Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so the review aggregator decided to have some fun by awarding the film with a suitably-tiny trophy. Check it out, below!

True to the hilarious nature of Ant-Man and The Wasp, while also honoring the fantastic shrinking abilities of the movie's heroes, that Rotten Tomatoes tweet pretty much embodies everything that we love about Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne's most recent outing. Placed between the legs of an Ant-Man action figure and a Wasp action figure, that award lets ant-sized folks (and those with exceptional eyesight) know the film's true prestige.

This award is also important to note because it showcases the insane winning streak that Marvel Studios has been on as far back as 2008 with the original Iron Man. Even with films like The Incredible Hulk and Thor: The Dark World (which Chris Hemsworth recently referred to as "meh" while reflecting on his time in the Marvel franchise), the Marvel Cinematic Universe has still never produced a movie that has received a Rotten score from Rotten Tomatoes. With only two films to go until Phase 3 closes out, we will have to wait and see if Captain Marvel and Avengers 4 can maintain the strong momentum that Marvel Studios has exhibited over the course of the last 20 films.

Of course, while this tweet shows Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne standing proudly (at least, the lower halves of their bodies are standing proudly), audiences who have seen Ant-Man and The Wasp already know that some serious work will need to be done to bring them back together. This is because the ending of Avengers: Infinity War, and Thanos' Infinity Stone-based genocide, bled into the final moments of Ant-Man and The Wasp's post-credits scene, leaving Scott stuck in the Quantum Realm, while the entire Pym family was dusted. Nobody from the Ant-Man corner of the MCU appeared in Infinity War, but they will have big roles to play moving forward as everything comes to a head.

Scott Lang will return to help close out the Phase 3 slate next year when Avengers 4 premieres on May 3, 2019!
