In the latest reminder of how depressingly old you are, Hellraiser – the seminal cult Brit horror from director Clive Barker – is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. To mark three decades of Pinhead, those creative geniuses at Mondo are re-releasing the iconic soundtrack by Christopher Young with a newly-redesigned LP and poster from artist Matt Ryan Tobin

The new collector's edition soundtrack will launch at the Prince Charles Cinema in London, everyone's favourite fleapit (and occasional home to the Empire Podcast), which hosted the very first screening of Hellraiser way back in 1987. Horror fans who buy a ticket to the 35mm screening on 25 September will also get a poster featuring the same Tobin artwork, with the soundtrack on sale in the lobby.

A rather dashing steelbook Blu-ray, incorporating Tobin's artwork, is then set to follow on 30 October from Arrow Video, just in time for Halloween.

“We've seen a lot of interpretations of Pinhead in art looking malicious and evil," said artist Matt Ryan Tobin on his interpretation. "I wanted to focus on the cold and somber aspect of Pinhead; emotionless and almost sad. As much as he is a delegate for the Cenobites, he's also very much a prisoner; chained down by the very chains he uses to collect and destroy souls. I really wanted the artwork to reflect this."

Tickets for the PCC screening go on sale tomorrow, 1 September, and will be available from the Prince Charles Cinema website. They'll very likely sell out, too.
