HBO has quickly cut ties with Louis C.K. after today’s bombshell report that the comedian allegedly sexually harassed multiple women. The accusations against C.K. are but the latest in a recent string of reports alleging that prominent Hollywood figures have engaged in sexual assault, harassment, or misconduct. The floodgates opened with the myriad of allegations against Harvey Weinstein, and have continued with such names as Kevin Spacey, James Toback, and Dustin Hoffman.

C.K. was today accused of sexual harassment by five women, in an explosive New York Times expose. This isn’t the first time this type of behavior by C.K. has been alleged, but reports in years past seemed to quickly fade from the news. In the current post-Weinstein and Spacey climate though, it looks like Louis C.K.’s career is unlikely to emerge from this current scandal unscathed. It should be noted though that the comedian has yet to publicly respond to the accusations against him.

Now, Deadline reports that HBO has taken swift action to cut its ties to Louis C.K., announcing that the award-winning comic will no longer be invited to appear on the premium cable giant’s upcoming special Night of Too Many Stars, which raises money for autism-related charities. The special – hosted by Jon Stewart, and airing on November 18 – has traditionally aired on Comedy Central, but is now making the jump to HBO. As usual, Night of Too Many Stars is set to include a who’s who of the comedy world, including Stephen Colbert, Chris Rock, and Adam Sandler.

In addition to removing C.K. from the Night of Too Many Stars line-up, HBO has removed all archival content featuring the comedian from its on-demand services HBO Now and HBO Go. This includes multiple stand-up comedy specials, as well as C.K.’s short-lived 2006 series Lucky Louie.
This follows the announcement earlier today that the premiere for C.K.’s latest film, I Love You, Daddy had been preemptively canceled, once word broke that the New York Times piece would be arriving soon. C.K. also canceled a scheduled appearance tonight on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. For its part, FX has said it is reviewing the allegations against C.K., and has yet to determine if popular sitcom Louie has a future.
