Maybe. Maybe not.

According to Deadline, they’re “hearing” that Guy Ritchie, the man who gave us kooky British gangsters and Robert Downey Jr.’s “Sherlock Holmes,” may or may not be teaming up with his buds at Warner Bros. for a “tentpole fantasy retelling of the Arthur legend, meant to span six films.”

Sheesh. That’s pretty ambitious. Hollywood can barely make one good movie, they’re already going for six? That’s a tad stretching it, doncha think, Hollywood?

Lalaland has been hot for King Arthur for a while now, but I don’t recall anyone getting anything up and running since Antoine Fuqua’s “King Arthur” in 2004. That movie starred Keira Knightley and Clive Owen. One Arthurian tale that almost happened was “Arthur & Lancelot,” which for some time had “Game of Thrones’” Kit Harington and Joel Kinnaman attached, but the budget was too high for Warner and the movie was scrapped.

Now both Harington and Kinnaman are set to blow up (literally for Harington, the star of Paul W.S. Anderson’s “Pompeii”, and Kinnaman on the “RoboCop” reboot), so who knows, that “Arthur & Lancelot” movie might eventually happen sooner or later. Of course, it remains to be seen if those two actors are willing to return.
