Hot on the heels of the first official teaser poster for James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 comes... something else. This reportedly is the first official international trailer for Gunn's Guardians sequel. It's in Russian. It relies heavily on a song from the first movie. It's... weird. Give it a spin.
(UPDATE: The U.S. version of the trailer just dropped.

Well, that was an insane flurry of activity. Marvel started this deluge of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 information with a badass and ridiculously cool poster showing the edgy outer space anti-heroes in a classic punk rock pose. Did you see that yet? Check it:

Unexpectedly, the above bit of new footage from James Gunn's sequel landed on YouTube... only, in Russian form. The subtitles were in Russian. The conversation between Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) was in Russian. For a few minutes, we were just as lost as Drax often is in a conversation. Thankfully, Marvel had our back, and that English-language version arrived minutes later. Whew.

What did the clip show off? There was rapid-fire shots of the different members of Peter Quill's team, including Gamora brandishing a badass sword, and concluding with our first look at Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) in action. The sound he makes suggests that they will be going for a higher-pitched baby voice for the reborn character. Also, he's wearing this adorable leather jumpsuit that we were able to see in the longer San Diego Comic-Con cut of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 footage.

Marvel is prepping Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 for a May 5, 2017 release date. I imagine this footage will be on the big screen in front of Doctor Strange on November 4. For now, what did you guys think?
