Jordan Vogt-Roberts revealed who he thinks would win in a fight between Godzilla, Kong, and God of War's Kratos. Vogt-Roberts has been heavily involved with the MonsterVerse franchise, having directed Kong: Skull Island, and is reportedly an avid gamer, too. In fact, he's actually signed on as the director for Sony's Metal Gear Solid film, and recently confirmed the script is finished. So, who better to ask than him about whether or not Kratos could take on two of pop-culture's most iconic monsters?

Kong: Skull Island premiered in 2017, and gave fans a fresh take on everybody's favorite King. Godzilla was released in 2014, and has a sequel, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, set to release in May 2019. Kratos was most recently seen in Cory Barlog's landmark God of War, which came out in April. So, it only seems natural, with all three of these pop-culture icons in the spotlight at present, that someone was going to pit them against each other eventually. The only question is, who would win?

In Screen Rant's San Diego Comic-Con 2018 media room interview with Vogt-Roberts, the Kong: Skull Island director was asked for his opinion on the matter at hand. Vogt-Roberts responded, saying:

"I do have a dog in the fight. I love both of them dearly. I think Kong is a brawler and I think he's got a spirit that cannot be broken. Godzilla is a formidable foe though. You know, it's funny, we did a panel the other day. It was me, Cory Barlog, who directed the new God of War game and Steven DeKnight who did Daredevil and it was all about reimagining myths and heroes and franchises. And so we did this amazing poster that's like Kong, Kratos, and Daredevil and so of course online everyone was like, 'Well who's going to win? Who's going to win?' And I just had to sit there and be like, look, I love Kong, but there's no way Kratos does not just rip his head off. Like that is what he is built for. And unfortunately I think Daredevil is just like out pretty quick. But between Kong and Godzilla, that's just a fight I'd be glad and thankful to be able to watch."

It is of particular interest that Vogt-Roberts admitted defeat on behalf of his beloved Kong, but he's probably right. Kratos took down Zeus, his own father, and he's hellbent on tracking down Odin next. He's got bigger fish to fry than "The Eighth Wonder Of The World". Unfortunately for Daredevil, he never really stood a chance against such formidable foes. Hell's Kitchen is a dangerous place, for sure, but it doesn't compare to Olympus, Muspelheim, or Skull Mountain.

Vogt-Roberts concluded with quite an interesting thought, though. Although Kratos would likely prevail over both Kong and Godzilla, the battle between the latter two would be epic. Luckily for fans, this battle will actually happen, with Godzilla vs. Kong set for a 2020 release. Although there has been very little revealed about the nature of this film, likely because Godzilla: King of the Monsters will be releasing first, pitting these two titans against each other on the big screen will be a treat for fans all over the world.

So, there you have it. According to Vogt-Roberts, Kratos would likely "rip (Kong's) head off", but the real fight will be between Kong and Godzilla in 2020. Vogt-Roberts is surely rooting for Kong, but it will be a close fight, and will be absolutely spectacular to watch.
