Millie Bobby Brown's character tries to reach Monarch in the first Godzilla: King of the Monsters teaser, but ends up hearing something that's far from comforting instead. This preview further suggests the teaser trailer for director Michael Dougherty's MonsterVerse sequel will premiere during the film's presentation at the Warner Bros. Hall H San Diego Comic-Con panel this weekend. Based on the studio's own track record when it comes to debuting trailers at SDCC, the King of the Monsters trailer may be released online shortly thereafter.

Brown (Stranger Things) costars in the new Godzilla movie as Madison, the daughter of seasoned Monarch scientist Dr. Emma Russell. The Conjuring's Vera Farmiga plays Dr. Russell and has revealed that her character knows how to communicate with a variety of MUTOs in the MonsterVerse, suggesting she might even be able to control the monsters in some way. However, for reasons that have yet to be explained, Madison is alone and trying to reach her mother in the first King of the Monsters clip.

Brown actually posted the teaser online through her Instagram account. Take a look at the video below, then check out Warner Bros.' newly-released King of the Monsters banner, which also features Brown:

Kyle Chandler costars in Godzilla: King of the Monsters as Emma's ex-husband (and, in turn, Madison's father) Mark, who joins forces with Monarch members Dr. Ishiro Serizawa and Vivienne Graham (Ken Watanabe and Sally Hawkins, reprising their Godzilla roles) on a rescue op to find his family. According to Dougherty, Brown and Farmiga's characters are kidnapped in the movie by an organization that has its own reasons for being obsessed with giant monsters like Godzilla. It stands to reason, then, that this footage takes place after Madison and her mom have been captured, which is why Madison is trying to contact Monarch for help.
