The Night King has a very specific person he wants to kill in Game of Thrones' final season, Vladimir Furdik reveals. The stuntman-turned-actor took over the role of the mysterious villain in season 6 from Richard Brake after playing the White Walker who fought Jon Snow (Kit Harington) in the season 5 episode "Hardhome."

After Game of Thrones season 7 wrapped up August of 2017, fans have been waiting an unusually long time for the eighth and final outing of the popular HBO show. And with just a little bit more than a month to go before the new installment rolls out, marketing is in full gear with the release of its first full trailer, giving fans an idea on what to expect in the series' conclusion. But amidst the ongoing separate personal arcs for the show's lead characters, all of their individual issues will have to take a back seat with the threat brought by the Night King looming. And apparently, he's eyeing a single person to kill.

As part of EW's extensive feature on Game of Thrones season 8 is an interview with Furdik about the Night King. He kept his lips sealed for any specific spoiler, but he did tease about what his character's ultimate motivation is, and it has to do with killing a particular character on the opposite of the wall.

"Somebody made him the Night King. Nobody knows who he was before — a soldier or part of [nobility]. He never wanted to be the Night King. I think he wants revenge. Everybody in this story has two sides — a bad side and a good side. The Night King only has one side, a bad side

People will see he has a target he wants to kill, and you will find out who that is. There’s also that moment [in “Hardhome”] when Jon Snow was on the boat and the Night King looked at him and raised his arms — there’s a similar and even stronger moment between Jon and the Night King this time."

Not much is known about the Night King - an odd thing considering that it's already this late in the show. His origins have been established, however, with season 6 revealing him as a First Man who was captured by a group of the Children of the Forest. A member of the pack named Leaf pressed a dragonglass dagger into his chest effectively making him the first White Walker. After the White Walkers turned on their creators, the Night King became their master, and as fans have seen at the end of Game of Thrones season 7, he is leading the Army of the Dead to cross the wall to invade Westeros.

At this point, it's anyone's guess who the Night King is particularly targeting in the roster of remaining Game of Thrones characters. But considering Furdik's recent comments, it appears that he's seeking revenge for what happened to him. Assuming that this is the case, it's safe to say that whoever he wants to kill has an unknown link to Leaf and the Children of the Forest. Whether or not he will succeed in his endeavor remains to be seen, especially since it appears like the show's heroes will be putting up a gallant fight with he Battle of Winterfell supposedly the longest battle scene ever. Regardless of what goes down, fans are nothing but excited to find out more once the final season debuts in just a few weeks.
