Wonder Woman may not include Diana’s famous invisible jet, but director Patty Jenkins isn’t ruling the aircraft out as a possibility in future sequels. The first Wonder Woman reviews have just dropped online and so far, word of mouth around the DC Extended Universe solo film – starring Gal Gadot as Diana Prince herself, Wonder Woman – is extremely positive, as a whole.

It remains to be seen how the positive word of mouth impacts Wonder Woman‘s box office turnout, but promotional events such as the women-only screenings offered by Alamo Drafthouse should only further drum up support for the film. As such, the discussion is already starting to turn to the potential Wonder Woman sequel(s) that Jenkins may direct and how they may include classic elements of the Wonder Woman comic book mythos that didn’t make the cut, in Jenkins’ first DCEU installment.

Speaking with Yahoo! Movies, the Wonder Woman cast and crew expressed interest in exploring and introducing some of the odder elements of the original comics in any/all future Wonder Woman movies. Chief among those interesting artifacts, it seems, is none other than the Amazonian warrior’s invisible jet. Speaking to the iconic nature of the jet, Jenkins said:

“The invisible jet is very important and ultimately we have to have the invisible jet. That’s a very big part of Wonder Woman.”

For those in the know, the invisible jet was first introduced to comic book readers way back in 1942 by way of Sensation Comics #1. Undoubtedly among the more bizarre and ridiculous pieces of Wonder Woman ephemera – joined by the dueling oddities that are the superhero’s brief run for president of the United States and her pet kangaroo Jumpa – the invisible jet has appeared before in previous iterations of the character on the small screen, and as such perhaps movie fans will be seeing more of it in the near future.

It would definitely be a sight to behold – or not, as the case may be – if the invisible jet were to make its way into Wonder Woman sequels going down the road, but for now fans can rest assured that Jenkins and Gadot aren’t done exploring the character and her outstanding mythology in the DCEU yet. Likewise, whether future Wonder Woman movies take place before or after Justice League plays out in the modern-day, is another issue that’s open to speculation at this stage.
