Full Cast Announced for American Horror Story: Freak Show!

During the American Horror Story panel this past Saturday, at this years San Diego Comic-Con, came word as to who would be starring in American Horror Story: Freak Show, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have the lowdown below.

Kathy Bates and Evan Peters will be playing Ethel and Jimmy Darling. Joining them will be Angela Bassett’s Desiree Dupree, Michael Chiklis as Dell Toledo, Sarah Paulson in the dual role of conjoined twins Bette and Dot Tattler, and Emma Roberts as Maggie (no last name as of yet). Finally, series staple Jessica Lange will be playing a character is named Elsa Mars. Chiklis is playing Bates’ husband…and Bassett’s ex-husband.

The site also revealed that one of the core villains in the upcoming series will be played by the character actor John Carroll Lynch (Zodiac). Executive producer Tim Minear described the tone of Freak Show as “Douglas Sirk meets Zodiac.”

I absolutely love American Horror Story, but I just couldn’t get into Coven, perhaps it’s just personal taste. In any event, Freak Show is said to be much darker in tone, much like the previous two seasons, hopefully without any aliens though.
