Previewing what fans can expect in the HBO fantasy series' last outing. co-executive producer Bryan Cogman teased unity among all warring factions in order to take on their common enemy. It's interesting how this will all play out considering where characters were left last season, but he promises Game of Thrones season 8 to be nothing less than surprising in a satisfying way.

“It’s about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death. It’s an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do — which is flipping this kind of story on its head.”

As for the two actors who will be at the forefront of the narrative, Harington emphasized how grueling filming was for the final season as "they want to get it right, they want to shoot everything every single way so they have options." Clarke adds by saying that “[camera] checks take longer, costumes are a bit better, hair and makeup a bit sharper — every choice, every conversation, every attitude, has this air of ‘this is it.’ Everything feels more intense.”

In terms of narrative, Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, has previously said that the Game of Thrones ending might be divisive, while Dinklage assured fans that Tyrion will get a beautiful ending. Other than leaked set images and details include a one-on-one conversation between Jon and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey), as well as a tease on the show's biggest action set piece.
