The trailer for the second half of season 4 of Fear The Walking Dead has officially debuted at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The latest trailer regarding the upcoming return of the series was released during the show’s official Comic-Con panel.

Fear The Walking Dead is a companion series to the ever-loved The Walking Dead, which is based on the comic-book series by Robert Kirkman. The series originally premiered on AMC in August 2015, and has since been renewed for a total of four seasons. The show focuses on following a somewhat dysfunctional family as they struggle to deal with the onset of the apocalypse. As society seems to crumble around them, they have to band together and face challenges that force them to adopt new attitudes and develop new skills purely to stay alive. Fear The Walking Dead featured the likes of Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, and Alycia Debnam-Carey (though only Debnam-Carey still remains) and has been well received by fans of franchise ever since the first season’s release.

The official trailer for the second half of the fourth season has now been released during the show’s Comic-Con panel. The latest content has riled up fan attention once again, as many were left with quite a few questions after the conclusion of the first half of the season. Notably, audiences all around the globe wanted to know whether the dark storylines would be continued or whether the characters were going experience a more positive turn of events. However, the trailer - which doesn’t reveal too many plot details - now gives viewers reason to believe that the show will remain as dark as ever.

The trailer opens with a variety of shots of the various cast members giving rather meaningful looks at something out of frame of the camera, though the trailer quickly picks up action as it moves onto the character Alicia taking out a couple of zombies. The trailer makes sure not to reveal too many details regarding the upcoming episodes and the writers clearly want to keep viewers guessing, but the trailer is a good indication that the action isn’t letting up any time soon.

In the beginning of season 4, fans were taken off-guard by the deaths of the characters Nick Clark and Madison Clark. While defenses were made to justify both of the characters’ untimely deaths, many audience members weren’t happy with the way the season progressed and how the deaths were handled. In turn, there’s been quite a bit of speculation in regards to just how the community is going to evolve.

Of course, it’s understandable that not all fans will be happy with certain characters being killed off - especially when some of the plot lines go against the wishes of the actors themselves - but it’s not unlikely that Fear The Walking Dead will still attract a large audience demographic. Despite the changes being made to the plot and the storylines, there are still plenty of different narratives that the writers may choose to follow. As there are different timelines inherently linked to the action of the series, fans will have to wait to see how it unravels and whether it’s just going to continue to look bleak for the zombie-fighting group.

Fear The Walking Dead returns to AMC on August 12 for the second half of season 4.
