Netflix's upcoming young adult series Fate: The Winx Saga released its official full-length trailer, which previews five fairies' journeys to harness their powers at the magical boarding school Alfea. The show is a live-action remake of Iginio Straffi's Italian-American cartoon series Winx Club, which was co-produced by Nickelodeon and Rainbow S.p.A. and first premiered in 2004. Fate: The Winx Saga stars Abigail Cowen (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Stranger Things) as Bloom, a first-year student with the potential to become one of the most powerful fairies in the Otherworld, as well as Hannah van der Westhuysen, Eliot Salt (Normal People), Elisha Applebaum, and Precious Mustapha as her supernatural companions. The show's six-episode first season will be available to stream on January 22.

Ahead of the show's premiere, Netflix released a full-length trailer that showcases more of what audiences can expect. Check it out in the space below:

As was apparent in the Fate: The Winx Saga teaser trailer, the show is taking a much darker approach than its sparkly animated predecessor. The full-length trailer features fiery monsters and lightning spells, and foreshadows an epic war between good and evil. It teases the Hogwarts-like training school, Witcher-style monster hunting, and Avatar-esque elemental powers, all with a fairy twist. The trailer also gives viewers their first glimpse at the magical barrier, which protects the school from dangerous beings called "Burned Ones."

Fate: The Winx Saga follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
