Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s “All You Need is Kill”, the original book title of Doug Liman’s “Edge of Tomorrow”, is one of the few books I managed to find time to read last year, and it was a hell of a ride. I’m not sure the movie could even approach the level of insanity in the book, and from the looks of it, they’ve radically altered the storyline. For one, the book’s hero was a young, green trooper, not a 50-somthing Tom Cruise. On the other hand, Emily Blunt as the uber badass Rita Vrataski looks friggin’ dead on.

So what did Blunt do to get ready for the role?

Blunt trained six days a week for three months to get herself into alien-battling shape, focusing on everything from weights to sprints to yoga, aerial wire work and gymnastics.

“I even learned Krav Maga, a lethal martial arts using pretty much everything including your teeth to destroy,” says Blunt. “That was pretty fun.”

Sounds pretty fun to me!

The trailer, we’re told, should be out shortly. Until then, check out two new images from the film courtesy of USAToday.
