Doctor Strange Is Terrible At Entertaining Children In This Hilarious Jimmy Kimmel S

We are only a few short weeks away from Doctor Strange, which -- if Twitter is to be believed -- is pretty good! But protecting the planet from all sorts of interdimensional threats isn't cheap, and even Doctor Strange gets strapped for cash ever once in a while. That means he has to take some gigs on the side and who better to wow the masses than the Sorcerer Supreme himself? As it turns out, Strange may want to stick to his day job after failing to impress this kid's birthday party, thrown by Jimmy Kimmel.

In true Marvel tradition, Benedict Cumberbatch appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the other night to share some experiences from the set of Doctor Strange and took some time to film a sketch with Kimmel in character as the magical doctor. In the video, Strange is hired by Kimmel to entertain at a children's birthday. It's a little beneath someone who can turn into a ghost, but the rent of the Sanctum Sanctorum isn't cheap, so Strange can't really afford to pass up $150.

Strange should have known something was wrong when even Jimmy Kimmel wasn't impressed after he arrived through a magical portal. He's already 30 minutes late (if the astral plane has traffic then what's the point of teleporting?) but he's ready to slay some demons. Then Kimmel shows him that he's actually here to entertain some kids who are so hopped up on sugar, they might as well be demons. This isn't really in Doctor Strange's wheelhouse, but his LinkedIn profile says he's the greatest magician and he's not one to be outdone by a lowly Spongebob. Needless to say, one kid ends up in a hell dimension.

In addition to being pretty funny, the video also offers us a great look at Strange's costume. It's been said before but Cumberbatch looks great as the character. The costume looks very cool and almost looks like it was taken right off the comic book page. Plus, we have a great sampling of Cumberbatch's America accent for the role. All in all, good job Jimmy Kimmel.

Doctor Strange is directed by Scott Derrickson and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Tilda Swinton, Benedict Wong, and Mads Mikkelsen. Doctor Stephen Strange is an arrogant surgeon whose hands are damaged beyond repair after a terrible car accident. He travels around the world searching for a cure, before finally finding the Ancient One (Swinton), who promises to teach him about the mystic arts, molding him into the planets first and last line of defense against magical threats.

Doctor Strange is set to hit theaters next month on November 4 and there will almost certainly be no balloon animals.
