Daredevil and Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson recently expressed her desire to appear in the Star Trek franchise next. The actor began her career as a child actor with her feature film debut in the controversial independent movie Kids at the age of 15. Dawson went on to have a successful career on both the big screen with roles in Spike Lee's He Got Game, Oliver Stone's Alexander, and Robert Rodriguez's Sin City, as well on television with appearances in Jane the Virgin, The Last Kids on Earth, and Dopesick. However, some of her most prominent recent roles come from Marvel and Star Wars franchises.

In 2015, Dawson starred in Marvel's Daredevil series as Claire Temple, a night shift nurse who assisted the titular hero when he was injured. Temple ended up being one of the main connective elements of a series of Marvel shows including Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. Also in 2015, she joined DC as the voice of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in the DC Animated Movie Universe film Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, the fourth film in the series. The actor maintained the role for six additional films until the Universe's completion in 2020 with Justice League Dark: Apokolips War. Also in 2020, Dawson made the leap to Star Wars in The Mandalorian season 2 as the fan-favorite former Jedi Ahsoka. Following her live-action debut, Lucasfilm confirmed that the actor would lead a solo series about the character titled Ahsoka.

During a THR roundtable featuring a variety of television actors, Dawson shared with her colleagues that she wished to join Star Trek next. The actor has already made a name for herself in some of the biggest media universes such as the Marvel and Star Wars, but she now wishes to step into as many large multi-billion dollar franchises as possible. When asked what the actor's most desired roles would be, Dawson exclaimed, "I just want to be in Star Trek so I can be in all the universes."

Dawson has already secured roles in the top two highest-grossing cinematic universes in history, not to mention her being an integral part of Kevin Smith's far smaller View Askewniverse. However, an appearance in Star Trek is not an unrealistic desire for the venerable actor. With Alex Kurtzman's recent rebranding of Gene Roddenberry's science-fiction franchise, a wealth of shows are available for the actor to join.

Star Trek returned to television in 2017 with Star Trek: Discovery after a 13-year hiatus. Kurtzman was tasked by CBS Television studios to restructure the Trek franchise for modern audiences. He has overseen the production of six new shows, each currently airing, with two additional series planned. With Star Wars' Ahsoka on the horizon and her Marvel future looking more fruitful following Daredevil's (Charlie Cox) appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, a possible Star Trek appearance isn't out of the question.
