DANCING on Ice could soon have to rename itself Swimming in Water if problems with the rink are not fixed in time.

Bosses are splashing out thousands of pounds on insulation after the ice in Bovingdon, Herts, began to melt ahead of rehearsals for the show’s launch on January 6.

A telly source said: “They already have three chillers powered on generators to keep the ice cold, but the studio seems to be too warm to keep everything frozen.

They have been installing insulation so the temperature doesn’t rise any more. It’s very hard to get it right — a few degrees out and puddles can begin to appear.”

The show returns on Sunday nights with Holly Willoughby and co-host Phillip Schofield at the helm.

The line-up includes Towie’s Gemma Collins, singer Brian McFadden, ex-Strictly Come Dancing pro James Jordan and Grease actress Didi Conn.
