Nisha Ganatra ('Late Night') is directing the pic for Focus Features.

Dakota Johnson and Tracee Ellis Ross have signed on to star in Covers, a new comedy from Late Night director Nisha Ganatra.

Focus Features and Working Title are behind the project, with Focus distributing the film in the U.S. and Universal Pictures International distributing internationally.

While Ganatra’sLate Night is set in the world of late-night talk shows, Covers is, per Focus, an exploration of another section of the entertainment world, this one set among the talent, fame and fast-paced world of Hollywood’s music scene.

Flora Greeson wrote the script.

Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce, with Alexandra Loewy as executive producer.

Johnson is best known for starring in the Fifty Shades franchise and last year toplined Luca Guadagnino’s remake of Suspiria as well as Bad Times at the El Royale.

Ross is one of the stars and producers of the ABC comedy Black-ish, with her work earning her multiple Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe win.

Ganatra's Late Night, which stars Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson, is set to bow June 7.
