In addition to renewing nearly the entire current lineup and adding Supergirl to its schedule next season, The CW has ordered three new television shows, including the Archie-inspired series Riverdale, Frequency and No Tomorrow, per Variety.

Riverdale comes from Greg Berlanti, the executive producer of Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, meaning he'll now have five different comic book-based series on the same network.

Riverdale takes place in the present-day and offers "a surprising and subversive take" on Archie's iconic cast of characters. Sarah Schechter and Berlanti are executive producing alongside Archie Comics' Jon Goldwater.

Frequency serves as a reimagining of the original 2000 film and is written and executive produced by Supernatural showrunner Jeremy Carver. The network's final new show, dubbed No Tomorrow, is a romantic comedy written and executive produced by Corinne Brinkerhoff and Maggie Friedman.

The CW meanwhile has cancelled Containment, their recently debuted series about a lethal outbreak, reports TVLine. Containment had not yet debuted when CW gave their renewals to all their other currently-airing series earlier this year.

Containment was advertised as a limited series event, but producers did speak about ideas for other stories in possible future seasons.
