EVELYN Plummer pushes Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Stape a step too far in Coronation Street next week when she steals jewellery from dead Vera Duckworth’s jewellery box.

Fiz is puzzled when she spots the battleaxe – played by Maureen Lipman in the ITV soap – sporting some ‘new’ earrings.

Recognising the earrings, Fiz decides to do some detective work and shocks Tyrone later when she shows him Vera’s half empty jewellery box under Evelyn’s bed.

A furious Tyrone – actor Alan Halsall – confronts his newly-discovered nan and asks her why she thought it would be ok to help herself to Vera’s things.

Later Evelyn is left worried when Tyrone tells her their living arrangements aren’t working out.

She tells Tyrone how grateful she is for taking her in but realises she’s now outstayed her welcome.

Her words prick Tyrone’s conscience but will he relent and let Evelyn stay?

It looks like Evelyn will be staying put on the cobbles as it was reported last week that the pensioner would be arrested, along with Roy Cropper in upcoming episodes.

The pair will embark on a hunt to find Evelyn’s kidnapped dog – but are instead sensationally arrested on suspicion of dogging.

Images of the actors filming the upcoming episode, a copper spots the pair in Roy’s car and the windows are steamed up.

Their shifty attitude gives the policeman reason to believe something dodgy is going on inside the vehicle.

But Roy and Evelyn are on a mission to track down her beloved pooch Cerberus, who has been dognapped.

Mortified Roy is forced to explain they are staking out the house of the suspected thief in a bid to rescue her furry friend.
