This summer, USA premiered two brand new programs for audiences. One was Mr. Robot. The other, Complications, did fine at the network in terms of ratings and reviews, but this week we learned it didn’t manage to earn a second season. USA has revealed it made the difficult decision to cancel the Jason O’Mara-led drama after only one season.

Through its 10-episode first season, the show was averaging 2.3 million total viewers, although it should be noted that those numbers are from Live+ 7 day ratings rather than Live+ same day—those numbers were just over the million mark each week. Although those ratings aren’t great, they aren’t awful, either. More importantly, it marked the network’s second collaboration with creator Matt Nix, who also produced the wildly successful Burn Notice for the network. Obviously, USA was hoping Complications would work so they could keep the executive producer around, but unfortunately, Complications ended up leading to a complicated decision for the network.

Deadline reports that the biggest problem Complications was facing was not its ratings. The downfall ended up being the show’s ratings combined with the fact that USA doesn’t even produce the drama. Instead, Complications came from Fox 21 TV Studios, and while the decision came down to the last minute, USA ultimately decided that bringing the show back for a second season just wasn’t worth it.

It’s not all bad news, however. While Complications isn’t coming back next summer, the hacker drama Mr. Robot is going to continue moving forward. The network was so confident in the drama that USA signed on for a second season just after the first episode aired. The finale airs this coming week, and Mr. Robot will definitely be back next summer. In addition, Suits has also been renewed for a sixth season at the network and a renewal for Graceland is likely to come, according to the same report.

Fans of Complications will doubtless miss it. Still, USA has two other new projects in the pipeline, as well as some more pilots ordered for the coming year. Colony, from Carlton Cuse, has been picked up to series. Another show, Queen of the South, is also moving forward. Brooklyn Animal Control, Falling Water, Paradise Pictures and Shooter are the pilots we could be hearing about in the coming months. In the meantime, here’s the full list of everything coming out this fall.
