Elizabeth Olsen responds to rumors regarding a potential Scarlet Witch solo film in the MCU. The actor recently starred in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and reprised her role as Scarlet Witch, the film's terrifying villain who would stop at nothing to capture America Chavez (Xochitl Gomez) to absorb her powers so she could reunite with her children. Directed by Sam Raimi, Doctor Strange 2 showcased a horrific side of Wanda Maximoff previously unseen in the character's journey through the MCU.

Since her franchise debut in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda has been a complicated figure within the MCU. She has frequently straddled the line between hero and villain, something that changed with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when she was made a complete antagonist. Because that film put Olsen's Scarlet Witch front and center, many have begun wondering if a solo movie for the powerful and rich character could be around the corner. Scarlet Witch co-led the Disney+ series WandaVision last year, but considering where Doctor Strange 2 left her, it is clear there could be a lot more to her story.

In a recent interview on the television show Good Morning America, Olsen responds to rumors regarding a possible solo MCU film for her character, as well as those suggesting she will appear in the upcoming Disney+ series Agatha: House of Harkness. As is per usual for Marvel stars, Olsen keeps things close to the vest. Read what the actor says below.

"I would love to be a part of both of those. No one tells me anything, and I'm not even hiding a secret because I'm bad at that. I know nothing about my future."

Although Olsen has no new information about a potential Scarlet Witch film, the ending of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness kept the possibility for another appearance open. After battling America Chavez, Wong (Benedict Wong), and Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wanda finally reunites with her children, but they are afraid of her. The sorceress realizes that she has become what she feared all along and destroys her mountain throne, seemingly killing herself. However, no body is seen, only a bright red flash. Multiverse of Madness' writer, Michael Waldron, recently hinted that there is a strong possibility that she survived the collapse.

Even if Wanda died at the end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there is still a possibility to revisit her character in a multitude of ways. Following the death of Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in Avengers: Endgame, the character made a return in a solo film that acted as a prequel, telling a story between Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame. Through the use of a prequel film, or perhaps a multiversal spin-off, similar to how Loki was resurrected for his own Disney + series, it is possible that the Scarlet Witch can feature in another MCU project. Olsen seems interested, so perhaps one day it can become a reality.
