Who would you want to meet if you could find anyone you wanted after you died? Chances are a few people would say Bruce Campbell, especially since a) he’s entertaining and b) he’s got the chin to deal with anything dangerous in the afterlife. He’s now headed to limbo, signing to star alongside The Inbetweeners’ James Buckley in Welcome To Purgatory.

Gene Fallaize is gearing up to shoot the film at Pinewood Studios in London, working from a script by Marcus Ako and Tony Cook. The story finds three new arrivals in Purgatory who must find their way around the afterlife with the help of St. Paul. Unfortunately for them, the gates separating heaven and hell have been broken, leaving the world of angels and demons in ruins. Soon, our heroes are tasked with putting things right to avert a war between God’s celestial hosts and Satan’s devilish army.

Jillian Murray, Nathan Jones, Jack O’Halloran and Stephen Marcus help fill out the cast, while the film itself is targeting a 2015 release date. Campbell will likely also be busy on the Evil Dead TV show he’s developing with Sam Raimi, while Buckley will be back with the rest of the boys for The Inbetweeners 2, due out on August 6.
