The trailer sets the scene, opening on a quiet, desolate landscape. Rhodes’ character Tom recounts a story from his childhood when he would take his boat to the lake. “There was love, there was family,” he says. “It was a wonderful time.” The familial scenes are quickly intercut with those of horror and disruption.

“We were just driving, and then she saw something,” Bullock's character says.

“This ain’t no virus or chemical attack, it was real evil. If you see it, it takes on a form of your worst fears," observes Lil Rel Howery’s character.

As Bullock and her children travel down a violent river in a rowboat, she shouts an instruction, "Never take off your blindfold. We will make it."

Throughout the trailer, characters in great peril face moral questions.

Bird Box will be available for an exclusive limited theatrical engagement on Dec. 13 and will bow on the streamer on Dec. 21.
