'Food Inc.' producer Eric Schlosser, German director Ulrike Ottinger and Portuguese festival organizer Cintia Gil will judge Berlin's nonfiction lineup.

The Berlin International Film Festival has unveiled the three-person jury that will judge the documentary films in this year's selection.

Fast Food Nation author Eric Schlosser, who worked as a producer on Richard Linklater’s screen adaptation of his nonfiction bestselling expose of the industrial food industry, German documentary director Ulrike Ottinger and Cintia Gil, co-director of Portuguese documentary film festival Doclisboa, will select the winner of this year's Glashutte Original Documentary Award.

In addition to Fast Food Nation, Schlosser was a producer on Robert Kenner's 2008 Oscar-nominated doc Food Inc. and Paul Thomas Anderson's drama There Will Be Blood (2007), both of which screened in Berlin. Ottinger has been a regular at the Berlin festival, most recently with the 12-hour documentary Chamisso’s Shadow, which opened the festival's Forum sidebar in 2016 and won the German Film Critics Award.

The trio will choose this year's best documentary from 18 nonfiction films across all sections that will have their world premiere in Berlin.

The 2018 Berlin film festival runs Feb. 15-25.
