Batman and Superman are clearly at odds with one another for at least part of Zack Snyder's upcoming superhero film, and a new plot synopsis for Dawn of Justice provides a clearer picture as to why that's the case.

According to the summary, provided by UK theater chain VUE (via ComicBookMovie), "Superman is the most controversial figure in the world" after his battle with Zod in Metropolis. As such, many see him as a "threat to humanity" and want "justice for the chaos he has brought to Earth."

Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) is no exception, as he too believes the Man of Steel (Henry Cavill) "is clearly a danger to society" and "fears for the future of the world" should Superman's power be left unchecked. In an effort to right the hero's wrongs, Wayne then "dons his mask and cape," sparking a rivalry "fueled by bitterness and vengeance."

The summary goes on to describe a dangerous third party in the film: "However, a dark new threat arises in the form of a third man: one who has a power greater than either of them to endanger the world and cause total destruction." Is that Lex Luthor, Doomsday, or somebody else entirely...?
