Batman v superman: Dawn of justice production designer shares new details on doomsday

Batman v Superman production designer Patrick Tatopoulos shared a few new details on Doomsday's appearance in Dawn of Justice, teasing an even bigger threat for the film's trio of heroes.

In an interview with Premiere (translation via Heroic Hollywood), Tatopoulos discussed the DC villain's big screen debut, saying he'll be handheld a bit differently than he was in the comics.


"We are able to tell a story in a fresh way," he said. "Doomsday is an evolution essentially. Fans may be aware of the death of Superman story, but this is handled in such a new way. When the film is called Batman v or versus Superman, it really has a lot of levels to the meaning. Superman isn't just killed off at the end of something. We see how he evolves as part of Lex's plan to protect the world."

Tatopoulos then went on to confirm that "Doomsday isn't just the final act." According to the designer, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman will face an even "larger threat" in Dawn of Justice, and "those feeling they may know too much this early, are going to be in for a true surprise."


Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016 and, according to costume designer Michael Wilkinson, will feature an appearance by Erza Miller as The Flash.
