A release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on Blu-ray has been posted online, letting fans know they can pick up Marvel’s latest hit in about two months. The highly-anticipated sequel kicked off the 2017 summer movie season with a bang, raking in $146.5 million in its opening weekend. To date, James Gunn’s film has grossed $374.8 million domestically and $844.3 million worldwide, easily surpassing the numbers posted by its predecessor. It’s no surprise Marvel is already putting the pieces together for a third film in their space opera series.

Star-Lord, Gamora, and the rest of the gang will be part of the ever-expanding ensemble for Avengers: Infinity War, but there’s still a long wait between now and the next team-up extravaganza. Given that Vol. 2 was well-received by critics and audiences, viewers are going to want to give this May’s movie a rewatch or two before settling in to see the group take on Thanos. Even though Guardians 2 is still in theaters adding to its total, Marvel is in the process of ironing out all the details for the home media release. Now, it’s been revealed the Blu-ray can be purchased starting in August.

A listing on Target’s website makes mention of a “street date” of August 22, 2017. That would be a little more than three months after the film’s theatrical premiere, which is standard practice for the industry. It’s worth mentioning Marvel has not officially confirmed a date yet, so it’s possible this is simply a placeholder and could change in the near future. For instance, Best Buy currently has “Not Yet Announced” for the release date, so Target could just be estimating when the Blu-ray will hit stores.

Currently, no special features or any other details (like retailer exclusive packaging) are listed, but fans should expect announcements on those fronts soon. Looking at Marvel’s history, it’s safe to assume the Vol. 2 Blu-ray will include some deleted scenes, a gag/blooper reel, and a look at the other films the franchise has coming through the pipeline. If the disc does in fact come out in August, it wouldn’t be surprising if a Thor: Ragnarok preview was included to get viewers hyped for the God of Thunder’s return this November. Many will also be hoping for an Infinity War tease, especially since many of the Guardians characters will be included in that film.

Regardless of when the Blu-ray comes out, fans can rest assured the lovable gang of misfits will be invading their living rooms again soon. In a summer that’s been defined mostly by disappointments up to this point, Guardians 2 was a rare highlight at the multiplex, winning people over with its heart and humor. The film was full of fun moments and characters, particularly the scene-stealing Baby Groot. Vol. 2 will make for a fine addition to anyone’s collection, continuing the Marvel legacy in its own unique way.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still playing in U.S. theaters.
