TBS has announced that it has renewed Seth MacFarlane's animated show American Dad for an additional two seasons.
This means 44 new episodes will be added, 22 each for seasons 12 and 13. American Dad episodes reach an average of nearly 4 million viewers through TBS and its sister network Adult Swim.
"American Dad! has thrived since coming to TBS and Adult Swim," said Deborah Bradley, executive vice president of networks optimization and content commercialization for Turner Broadcasting. "We look forward to keeping the crazy-but-lovable Smith family around for a long time."
This announcement marks the second time in a year the show has been renewed. After a 10 year run on FOX, American Dad switched over to TBS, and was almost immediately renewed less than a month after its TBS air date.
TBS is looking to grow its original programming to more than 15 series over the next two years.
