Post-Avengers: Endgame, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is at the peak of its powers. And thanks to the continued excellence of the John Wick series, that cameo in Always Be My Maybe, his turn as stuntman toy Duke Kaboom in Toy Story 4, and a near-constant level of internet thirst, Keanu Reeves is also at the peak of his powers. So how about getting Keanu Reeves into the MCU? It’s something that uber-producer Kevin Feige has apparently long considered – and now that the internet knows about it, will probably be talked about until it actually happens.

Speaking to ComicBook.com, Feige was open about his efforts to bring Reeves into the Marvel universe – but is waiting for the right role to come along. “We talk to him for almost every film we make,” the MCU boss confirmed. “I don’t know when, if, or ever he’ll join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it.” In other words, Feige would love to see Keanu kicking about in the Marvel-verse somewhere – hey, he’s only human – but there are no concrete plans as of yet.

Still, it’s enough to prompt speculation on how Reeves would best suit a comic book character – could he fit nicely into the not-officially-announced-but-basically-happening Shang-Chi in a supporting role? He does, after all, know kung-fu. Or perhaps he could lean into his ever-growing mythical persona in a Taika Waititi-esque role, à la Jeff Goldblum in Thor: Ragnarok? Either way, if this does eventually come to pass it could be a real ‘woah’ moment.
