The film is set in the Aokigahara Forest, a famous location in Japan near Mout Fuji where many have gone to commit suicide. Dormer (of Hunger Games and Game of Thrones fame) stars as young American woman named Sara, who travels to the forest in search of her missing twin sister.

For a sneak peek at what's in store for Sara, check out The Forest's new trailer below.

Additionally, an "immersive" interactive experience called "Enter the Suicide Forest" has just launched, providing a 360 degree view inside Aokigahara using real images taken from the iconic Japanese forest.

You can check it out right here. Just note the best way to experience it is on either a mobile device or in virtual reality using your phone and Google Cardboard.

The Forest is directed by Jason Zada and opens on January 8, 2016.
