All of the Harry Potter movies are coming back to IMAX this month

Building hype for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

If there wasn't already enough anticipation for the Warner Bros. movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the company is bringing out the big guns for a final hurrah before Beasts hits theaters on November 18. Starting October 13, all of the eight Harry Potter movies will be playing in IMAX theaters across the country. According to the announcement, moviegoers who flock to theaters to relive the Potter series will also see a sneak peek of Fantastic Beasts.

This marks the first time that the first two movies, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, have been shown in IMAX theaters. According to io9, theaters will be able to sell tickets for single movie screenings, three- or four-movie packages, and full-access tickets that let you watch the entire series.

Chances are hardcore Potter fans were already pumped for Fantastic Beasts, since it will bring to life many of the magical creatures mentioned in the Potter series and described in a companion book of the same name written by J.K. Rowling. But the partnership is smart for Warner Bros. and IMAX, as it should draw in that crowd of superfans before the new movie comes out. \
