As Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. plows through season 2, Marvel continues promoting their next television venture: Agent Carter. The eight-episode miniseries – airing in January during Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s hiatus – will follow Peggy Carter as she battles against HYDRA agents and the patriarchy in post-WWII America.

Reprising their roles from Captain America: The First Avenger are Hayley Atwell as Peggy and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark (a.k.a. Iron Man’s daddy). Both played important roles in the formation of S.H.I.E.L.D., but as this series will explore, the two were also conducting their own missions on the side. Joining them is James D’Arcy as Edwin Jarvis, the Stark family butler as well as Peggy’s new partner on her mission.

Already we’ve seen one short teaser for Agent Carter that hinted at the series’ action-heavy approach but offered little in the way of concrete details. This extended preview, however, provides more setup in regards to what exactly it is Howard is asking Peggy to do, as well a little tease of Peggy’s rapport with Jarvis. Watch it above.

As had already been detailed in Agent Carter‘s official synopsis, Howards enlists Peggy’s help in collecting several of his deadliest weapons which have been stolen and put up for sale to the highest bidder. He then offers Peggy the services of his butler Jarvis to assist her with anything she needs. And from that premise and this clip, it really doesn’t appear Dominic Cooper will have that large a role in Agent Carter after all; more or less being around to get events rolling rather than seeing them through.

Assuming Cooper’s role in Agent Carter is in fact minor, it looks as if much of the series will center on Peggy and Jarvis’ new partnership, with the fun coming from watching this odd couple try to work as a team. The synopsis alluded to this, too, referring to Jarvis as “a creature of habit” with a “rigid daily routine” – as evidenced by this very clip – and that keeping up with Peggy will be a major adjustment for him.

And that’s because Peggy isn’t a woman to sit on her hands and simply wait for things to happen – she makes it happen, something every bit of promotion for Agent Carter hasn’t let us forget. Even this extended preview finishes with a fast montage of Peggy fighting some poor dolt, again hammering home their promise of an action-packed series.
