Acting is not an easy career to break into as an adult. Even more difficult, however, is to make it big in the business as a child. Acting requires a certain level of emotional maturity that most young people do not possess. But when they're able to nail a character, it's a feat that's hard to forget. Nineteen-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio's portrayal of a mentally challenged boy in "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" and Jodie Foster's role as a prostitute in "Taxi Driver" when she was only 12 are just of few of these memorable performances.
With this in mind, PrettyFamous, an entertainment site by Graphiq, found actors who got their start in entertainment the earliest.
First, PrettyFamous found the actors and actresses whose first credited appearances (according to IMDb) were before the age of eight. Additionally, these celebrities had to have at least 50,000 Wikipedia page views over the past 30 days (limiting the list to celebrities who are top-of-mind), and be credited with at least five acting roles on IMDb. These stars are ranked from oldest to youngest and ties were broken by their exact age in days. The youngest actresses were less than 2-years-old when they landed their first role.
