Try putting 4 in the answer, it worked for me. Although ":" denotes ratio mathematically and the corresponding answer should have been 1, since 4:4 => 4/4 = 1

Thank you..I guess it means 2 + 2 /2 x 2

which if you put it in brackets becomes 2 + (( 2/2) x 2 ) = 4


It comes from this order

Bracket > Order > Division >= Multiplication > Addition >= Subtraction

When I coded I always liked to use brackets so that there was no doubt about what was going on.

Ah.. the old BODMAS rule... you're right.
