Description

PTP is one of the best movie trackers. The sheer size of the user base dwarfs the others and therefore you have a much larger pool of torrent variation to choose from. It has a bonus points system in place similar to BTN's but their algorithm is different. The longer you seed items the more points you accumulate over time and the lesser seeds on that torrent grants you some additional points too. There are monthly contests that take place where by every film under a specific genre is free leech for 24hrs as well as daily free leech films under Golden popcorn, which are chosen by staff, that are also free leech. I found the forums are very good for obtaining points from very kind users and mods from the perspective of a new user to the site. They provide incentive to get involved with competitions with points which has been very helpful for getting off the ground. General usability is pleasant with torrent browsing very easy with a nice layout and some great alternative skins to choose from. You only have to seed for 48hrs which is very reasonable but most users tend to seed for longer than that obviously. PTP doesn't really have encoding groups as it is. Handjob is a bunch of users encoding roughly to similar standards with Handbrake, but anyone can make a -HANDJOB as long as they post in the approval thread. The quality varies a lot, and due to using Handbrake sometimes sources that should be filtered aren't. It is however true that they provide the bulk of internal encodes, often for more obscure content. TBB is on its last legs (approval thread goes for weeks before a response, their own thread pretty much dead). There is also a bunch of freelancers doing internal encodes on their own, without any association. Apart from the content, what sets PTP apart is the fact that their rating system is superb and Golden Popcorn is great. This makes the Top 10 also far better than anyplace else. Also, apparently, some rare/obscure internals that are already dead at their home trackers are still alive at PTP.

It means the speed on older torrents is not very fast, every site has fast speeds on new torrents, what matters is the overall experience.

lol , no man , No tracker on the planet deserves to be worship. (maybe just IPTorrents)

@TP47, I agree with @whiteLight on this. Trackers come and go so no need to worship any of them. Look at how the mighty have fallen (WCD, BCG and earlier on OiNK, SCT & FTN).
Just join a few trackers that offer what you need and that's it.

It is easier if the ratings are explained inline, because some numbers won't tell people exactly what they mean. That's what I was suggesting.

Never been a member of PTP, but I guess you find the same stuff on IPT as well. But good review, thanks for it!
