I'm hearing through a very trustworthy person on another tracker's forum that all of the data has been wiped.

In light of these developments, I'd rather not name the tracker and shine a spotlight on them, but the person is not someone who'd make a joke or operate on low information.

Staffer says:

It's not about backups or what was on the servers. The self-destruct button has been pressed.

Update:

Every site's page now says this:

Due to some recent events, What.CD is shutting down. We are not likely to return any time soon in our current form. All site and user data has been destroyed. So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Very sad indeed. I had more +200 GB in download ratio. What a pity we weren't warned a bit ahead of closure. I downloaded 1 CD 24 bits just two days ago. Could have downloaded hundreds....

If trackers like what.cd are closing, then something very bad is going on.
It could be a declaration of war against private trackers. I fear the worse.

GGn is deciding to preemptively close it's doors (for now)

SceneAccess is also down right now. Maybe this is related too to the whole thing. I think we're on the verge of cataclysmic changes in the private torrent sites world.
There goes another thing that we love, bit by bit, so it seems. Damn this money-centered fuckin' grey gorld we're living in.
