uTorrent, a proprietary adware BitTorrent client that is owned and developed by BitTorrent, has a big news to share. The company made the proud announcement stating that it will be starting to cater infrastructure requirements, meeting the demands of TRON ecosystem.

Excited at the promising prospect, uTorrent posted the update on Twitter with a short video: “Today we celebrate. Tomorrow we provide the infrastructure needs to meet the demands of the #TRON ecosystem. The entire team is proud to be joining the 26 other Super Representatives. Thank you once again for your votes!”

uTorrent and their journey with TRON

The video showcases Dave Rees, the vice president of Engineering at uTorrent. He is of the opinion that cryptocurrency was an impending journey for uTorrent. Coming in association with TRON, has boosted the company to attain the journey.

“My team of 20 engineers developed uTorrent, the world’s most popular BitTorrent application. We are looking for ways to leverage our over 10 years of experience in other technologies such as cryptocurrency. TRON being a major player in the cryptocurrency market, they were an obvious player for us,” the Vice President said.

TRON had officially completed its acquisition of BitTorrent on 24th July. In the official announcement of the acquisition, BitTorrent mentioned in its blog: “With this acquisition, BitTorrent will continue to provide high quality services for over 100M users around the world. We believe that joining the TRON network will further enhance BitTorrent and accelerate our mission of creating an Internet of options, not rules."

Rees is of the opinion that TRON has a ‘vibrant community’ that is "passionate about peer-to-peer technology and we are very excited to join the community".

“Even without the BitTorrent, we would have run to become a super representative,” he added.

The San Francisco based developer also announced the introduction of uTorrent web, which is uTorrent’s latest browser based Torrenting app that “allows you to find, download and play Torrent easily”.
