Thank you!

We are working hard to keep bringing you the best of British TV! Thank you for all your help.

Unfortunately, we are still having to limit the number of requests to the server to maintain a responsive front end, so you will continue to see the, now infamous, 503 "errors" in your clients. If you haven't read the previous updates or don't know what this is all about, please do read them here: tvchaosuk.com/articles and specially this one: tvchaosuk.com/articles/3

Please understand that this is by design. It is a temporary measure, but a necessary evil, as without this provision the site would be unusable. There is no need to report these errors to us, we know all about them! You can also search "503" in the forums for more information.

We are working on implementing a long term solution for this, but in the meantime we're extremely grateful for your patience and understanding.

In case you're wondering why; an analogy to this situation might be a large company with only two incoming phone lines and two switchboard operators. Some callers will get an 'engaged' tone at busy times. (Actually one operator is also the receptionist who also has to deal with customers... I hope you get the idea!)

In practice, this means... Downloads (and uploads) may be slow to start. Random, different, torrents may turn red in your client and may show a "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable" or "Could not parse bencoded data" message. The torrents affected and the number will vary depending on the time of day and how busy the site is. Don't delete them! Your options are either just to wait (your client will keep retrying to connect automatically, and will eventually succeed) or you can "redial" manually by finding and clicking "Update Tracker" in your client software until you connect.

This is a work in progress, the software is new and unfamiliar to us all, but with your help we will build it up to be bigger and better than ever! Watch out for more news and, as always, thank you all for your support.
