    TorrentBytes News

We, the staff here at TBy, would like to tell the folks over at a certain Romanian p2p site to go and f*ck yourselves. We really do not like you little sh*ts spamming our userbase with "mass PM" claiming to be staff here and tyring to get our users to join there as well as sniffing account details on those people.

We would like to advice our users to be cautious about such a sh*tty site with staff/community pulling out this sort of crappy moves on trying to get more users.

In short, we have not and will not suggest our users to join any sites. We are also not moving to any other domain. We will not ask you to login or sign up to any other site with the same userdetails as you have here.

If we send you a massPM, the sender will appear as system and that user will not have a profile you can open.

If you receive any PMs from users claiming to be staff, telling you to join another site or even advertising another site, please contact staff.

If I may make a small observation here, while I'd agree that such tactics are obviously childish and deplorable as this reaction here suggests, this latest situation only serves to highlight a bigger issue with TBy, namely its accessibility and openness to the public. Having had an account in that great community for years only to see it disappear after a period of inactivity while I was serving in the army back in '09, I know all too well these days that people have kept wondering for more than a year now when TBy might finally reconsider opening its gates again to allow a fresh wave of newcomers in. I'm not talking about an infinitesimal chance at signing up supposing you manage to hit that page the right millisecond when some other unfortunate schmuck's acct got pruned either; I'm talking about a proper planned community expansion period that would let, say, a few tens of thousands of new ppl in, kinda how TL and other popular private tracker comms have been operating. I know full well the chances of that happening are pretty slim these days, but still, a guy can dream, right?

Long story short, while TBy's admin staff have every right to regulate their userbase's size based on current "external security threat" conditions, IMO in the long run it'd serve the site ill to never explore that option at all for the sake of some kinda twisted seclusion.

Anyway, rant over, thanks for listening, hoping for the best.
