Keeping a Journal is a great discipline and an integral part of many systems.
Keeping an online journal also has many benefits not least of which is the ability to receive feedback from your fellow members.
It is a great way for us all to learn from each other.

JOURNAL GUIDELINES

* While a journal is a personal document, please do not include personal or identifying information which may lead to others being identified in real life (Doxing)
* This is your space, if you feel anyone is derailing your journal or making it uncomfortable for you to express yourself candidly, please contact staff. Disagreement can be constructive and is a valuable learning tool, but in this part of the forum you can set your own boundaries.
*If you want to write in somebody else’s journal please remember this is not the same as just posting in the forum, you are entering their personal space so please do so with respect and sensitivity.

3 TYPES OF JOURNAL

How you use the journal is entirely up to you. Here are some ideas.

i) Ongoing self-expression: Observations, ruminations and general philosophising
ii) Learning a skill: Wanting to learn a particular skill? chart your progress - successes and failures, insights and sticking points.
iii) Gongs/Performing a cycle: A gong is a period of time (traditionally 100 days) in which it is recommended one sticks with a practice in order to judge its efficacy, effect, etc. Other practices may require a certain cycle – for example performing a ritual over a period of 28 days. Keeping an online journal helps keep you on track, as you get the encouragement of your peers.
