As you have all noticed, the invites have been removed, from members and staff alike.

The Sysops have decided to suspend the invite system for the time being, and no, there is no set time for the re-introduction of invites at the moment.

Recently 10 invites were given to every member whose account was in good standing in the hope that they could be used to positively bring good members into our great community. The Announcement made did explain that unused invites would be withdrawn after a period of 10 days.

Unfortunately a significant number used their invites to permit banned members to return to the site, some others invited themselves for extra accounts, whilst others set the system alarm bells ringing by inviting people to sign up from the same locations as theirs (see rule #4 on the rules page) forgetting that the system can not see who is behind
As you can imagine this has created an immense workload for staff who are now clearing the mess from those that abused the Sysops ideals.

Invites will only be available if and when the Sysops decide they wish to re-activate the invite system, please do not ask, either here or via the Contact Staff system, or via PM to staff when this might be.

Understand that this post is not pointing a finger at anyone, do not take this personally. The Sysops have decided it necessary to suspended the invite system until further notice, it's as simple as that.

Finally, for all those who have complained that their invites have disappeared, yet have never used any of their allocations in the past, I would just like to re-iterate that invites were never a status symbol and having them or not makes no difference whatsoever to your accounts
