Once upon a time, I realized that getting JAV was kind of a pain. H-games, too. The torrents that did exist were often dead, with few if any peers. Those peers were almost certainly slow as hell. And don't get me started on the encoding quality. I decided to cobble together a Gazelle installation, to see if I could change that. I had no idea if it would succeed, but thanks to the combined efforts of everyone here, Oppaitime officially turns 1 year old this week.
Let's look at some stats. In the past year, we've managed to accumulate:
Almost 1000 users
Over 6,000 torrents
Almost 10TiB of data
Almost 60,000 snatches
3 Titty Monsters (you guys are seriously something else)
Over 3500 forum posts
God only knows how many 217,000 lines of IRC shitposts (thanks for the stats, pasta)
A couple DDoS attacks
The site has grown and the community has grown, and that's pretty great. I want to thank everyone who's contributed something to the site, even if it's just disk space. You're all a part of the site, and every contribution is valuable. We shouldn't forget people who are active in the community, too, both the forums and IRC. Without all of you, this place wouldn't exist.
With that out of the way, we're of course going to celebrate. As of this post, we're having a week-long site-wide freeleech. 7 full days of freeleech. Enjoy them! no that doesn't mean neutral leech torrents will be freeleech, fuck off
We're also having an upload contest. Here are the rewards:
If you upload at least 5 torrents, you'll receive 1,000 nips for every upload.
If you upload at least 10 torrents, you'll receive a badge at the end of the event
The user who uploads the most torrents will receive a special badge, with the icon of your choice. You supply the graphics.
We may or may not add rewards onto this later, so keep an eye out. I'd also like to encourage people who've never uploaded anything to give it a try. It's not nearly as hard as you might think, and both the forum and IRC have people willing to answer any question you might have.
Thanks for making this a great year. I'm looking forward to plenty more.
