MOSCOW, February 19 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. Roskomnadzor restricted access to pirated broadcasts of six TV channels, among them TV-3, TNT, STS, Rain, Friday and REN-TV, illegal broadcasts to date have stopped more than 200 Internet resources, the press service of the agency said on Monday.

"Based on the Moscow City Court's rulings, Roskomnadzor took preliminary provisional measures to protect the rights to broadcast TV-3, TNT, STS, Rain, Friday and REN-TV. At the moment, illegal broadcasts of TV channels have stopped more than 200 Internet resources, the broadcast is expected to stop for another 32 sites (the deadline for fulfilling the requirements has not yet expired), "the message says.

It is specified that the operators of communication, at the request of Roskomnadzor, restrict access to the pages of 20 sites that have not stopped pirated broadcasts of the aforementioned TV channels.

Russian legislation provides for extrajudicial measures to stop violations of copyright and (or) related rights that allow rights holders to protect against any illegal distribution on the Internet of any kind of multimedia content, with the exception of photographs. The decision on the preliminary securing of the protection of these rights is taken by the Moscow City Court.
