Cassette rules are a bit different than other media. I've just finished a cassette upload audit, and there are a couple of reminders for uploading and trumping cassettes.

The cassette rules, 2.10, are specific to these uploads. The rule that's probably the most important to keep in mind is 2.10.1.1:

2.10.1.1. Cassette releases may not be uploaded if the release exists on the site in any other format. A non-cassette release may trump a cassette release. A bonus track which only appears on the cassette release is considered exclusive content for that release, and the full cassette release may be uploaded. A different mastering or a different track order is not sufficient to justify the upload of a cassette rip.

Put another way, 2.10.1.1 requires the tape edition to have content not available on any other edition, or else it is considered a trump or a dupe, regardless of the codec or bitrate. The rules in 2.10 are specific to cassettes and override the general music upload rules. This means not only that non-cassette torrents can trump cassette torrents, but that lossy codec non-cassette torrents can trump cassette torrents, and lower bitrate lossy non-cassette torrents can trump higher bitrate lossy cassette torrents.

If there is cassette content on the site, one of two things should be true:

That cassette release contains bonus content as defined in the cassette rules or moderator discretion.
That cassette release is the only edition of the content available on the site.

As always, it is important to label editions and media types correctly, and no rule should be used as justification to either mis-label an edition or guess at edition information. If you have any question about any rules, including the cassette rules, please send a staff PM.
